Heather Augustyn is a correspondent for The Times of Northwest Indiana, the state’s second largest newspaper, writing both hard news and features. She has worked as a contributing editor for Lake Magazine, moving with the staff to start up Shore Magazine, covering a variety of regional topics.
In 2007, Augustyn conducted the last interview with Author Kurt Vonnegut only one month before his death. She went on to publish this interview in the magazine for which Vonnegut served as editor, In These Times, as well as two subsequent publications. She has also written for such national publications as The Village Voice, WorldWatch Magazine, and E! The Environmental Magazine on topics such as music and governmental policy.
Augustyn is the mother of two boys, Sid age 6 and Frank age 3. She and her husband, Ron, reside one hour from Chicago in Chesterton, Indiana. Her passions include music, reading, photography, block printing, cooking, and traveling.
